I am Program Director for the听Master of Health Leadership and Management (MHLM) programs and Senior Lecturer with the School of Population Health, Faculty of Medicine & Health, 探花系列.
My teaching work is convening and delivering postgraduate education for governance, safety and quality for the MHLM programs. I supervise coursework projects for MHLM students.听My teaching is underpinned by my track record of research in healthcare organisation, service delivery and management.
My research interests are focused on improving care of people living with motor neurone disease (MND). Areas include development and evaluation of decision support tools for people living with MND development; health service delivery, organisation and models of care; stakeholder engagement, and interprofessional team processes and practice.
I have attracted research funding of over $7 million. Recent collaborations include: redevelopment of the Australian decision support tools for MND care (FightMND); assessing and bridging gaps in MND service access through co-design (FightMND); and evaluating an integrated model of care development for MND clinical services.
My clinical background is in neurological rehabilitation as a speech pathologist, with 15 years鈥 experience working in health services as a clinician and healthcare manager (Australia and UK).

I currently lead the following research, funded by FightMND:
- Redevelopment of the Australian patient decision support tools for MND care (2024-2026)
- Bridging health equity gaps for people living with MND: Co-designing solutions with the MND community (2024-2026)
Additionally, I am collaborating on four other studies funded by FightMND to improve the care of people living with MND and their family carers

My foundational research developed web-based decision tools to support people living with MND to make decisions for care and quality of life. I devised a model of patient-centred decision-making to guide care delivery for my PhD study, and I have since built a strong track record of academic outputs, grant activity, higher degree student supervision and academic service in this field. Uptake of my research internationally has resulted in international collaborations for MND decision-making and support tools in Australia, the UK and USA. 听
I am currently contributing to the development of the Australian MND Guideline as a member of the Research and Policy Advisory group, and as a member of the Knowledge translation, Dissemination, Implementation and Evaluation Committee. Additionally, I am a serving Board Member of the MND Research Collective and member of MND Australia Research Committee, and the MND Research Collective Clinical Care driving team.
