Houssame is a data scientist, architect, and researcher keen to provide data analytics and simulation-based solutions to architectural design and engineering problems. He gained experience in the AEC sector leading and contributing to developing multiple data-intensive systems to aid with design-making and design generation for some major global practices. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture and a Master of Science in Architecture degrees from Bilkent University, where he developed a reinforcement learning and cellular automata framework to model self-organized and informal modes of urban growth in a thesis titled 'Deep Reinforcement Learning for Urban Modeling: Morphogenesis Simulation of Self-Organized Settlements'.

Houssame's research, supervised by Scientia Prof Michael Ostwald and A/Prof JuHyun Lee will focus on investigating and developing methods and frameworks to leverage historical data within AEC sector companies to guide and support decision-making processes. The aim is to extract valuable knowledge from industry actors' acquired experience and embed it within digital intelligent systems for future use, resulting in efficiency gains and further streamlining of design and engineering processes.
